Australia Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)

The Subclass 462 Work and Holiday Visa is a temporary visa designed for eligible young Chinese applicants to explore Australia while working to support their stay. This visa is intended for those with higher education qualifications and a certain level of English proficiency.

Visa holders can:

  • Stay in Australia for up to 12 months
  • Study for up to 4 months
  • Work for the same employer for up to 6 months

Currently, the 462 visa operates on a quota system, requiring successful online appointment booking before submitting the application.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age: Must be 18 to 30 years old at the time of application.
  • Nationality: Must hold a valid Chinese passport.
  • Education: Must have completed higher education or at least two years of university study.
  • English Proficiency: Must provide one of the following test scores (valid within 12 months of test date):
    • IELTS: Overall 4.5
    • TOEFL PBT: 133
    • TOEFL iBT: 32
    • PTE Academic: 30
    • Cambridge English (CEA): 147
  • Financial Proof: Must provide evidence of at least AUD 5,000 to support living expenses and purchase a return flight ticket.
  • No Previous 417 Visa: Applicants must never have held a Subclass 417 Working Holiday Visa.
  • No Dependents: Cannot bring children while on this visa.
  • Health and Character Requirements: Must meet Australia’s health and character standards (medical examination may be required).

Application Process

  2. Secure an Online Appointment
