Visa Categories & Payment Methods
- Subclass 143 Contributory Parent Permanent Visa: Requires a one-time payment of the full contributory amount, granting immediate permanent residency.
- Subclass 173 Contributory Parent Temporary Visa: Allows the contributory amount to be paid in two installments. The remaining balance must be paid within two years to transition to the Subclass 143 Permanent Visa.
Important Note: Parents holding a Subclass 143 visa must wait 10 years after visa approval before becoming eligible for an Australian age pension.
Eligibility Criteria
Sponsorship Requirements
- The sponsor must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.

Balance of Family Test
