Merchants Prosperity × Wanka New Student Board Game Night
On 21 August, 2026, Merchants Prosperity partnered with Wanka to host a New Student Board Game Market, creating a relaxed and welcoming offline social space for students who had recently begun their study journey in Australia. The event featured board games, a live magic performance, food and drinks, and attracted many students to join and connect with one another.
To help students break the ice and feel more comfortable, the organisers invited members of the University of Melbourne Magic Club to perform live magic during the opening session. The close-up interaction and entertaining performance quickly brought energy to the room and helped create a friendly and engaging atmosphere.
A wide variety of board games were also prepared for participants, including Werewolf, UNO, Mahjong, Monopoly, Guandan and many more. Students were free to form groups and choose the games they were interested in. Through the different games and activities, participants had the opportunity to communicate, interact and meet new friends in a natural and enjoyable way.
In addition to the games, the event provided dozens of cups of milk tea, a wide selection of pizzas and unlimited snacks for all attendees. Students were able to enjoy food while playing games and chatting, making the evening even more relaxed and enjoyable.
For many international students who have just arrived in Australia, adapting to a new campus and a new lifestyle also means building a new social circle. Through this event, Merchants Prosperity and Wanka aimed to provide an easy and interactive way for students to meet others, make new friends and settle into life in Australia more comfortably.
