About the Skills Assessment Authority
VETASSESS (Vocational Education and Training Assessment Services) is the Australian government-designated skills assessment authority responsible for evaluating the qualifications, skills, work experience, and English proficiency of applicants seeking skilled migration and employer-sponsored visas. The assessment ensures that applicants meet Australian industry standards and are qualified to work in their nominated occupations. A positive skills assessment from VETASSESS is crucial for visa applications, including General Skilled Migration visas (subclass 189, 190, 491) and Employer-Sponsored visas (subclass 482, 186).

Processing Time & Fees
- The standard processing time is typically 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the occupation category and the completeness of the submitted documents. For more complex applications, the processing time may be extended.
- Assessment Fees: The fees vary depending on the occupation category. Generally, the assessment fee ranges from 500 to 800 AUD. Additional services, such as priority processing or reassessment, may incur extra charges.
Validity and Renewal
- The skills assessment is valid for three years. This means that within three years of receiving a positive assessment, you can use the result to apply for an Australian migration visa.
- The assessment can be renewed within the validity period.
